I am an alumnus of IMTC, belonging to the 2020-2021 batch. Though we call ourselves as the 'corona' batch, there's so much we learnt amidst being the first online batch. Yes, I was skeptical to choose an online course but still it has helped a lot of us belonging to different states. I always believe knowledge has no barriers, the mentors are ardent believers of the Montessori method and are the best to convey it in an appropriate manner. They not only helped me understand the method but also gave a holistic connect. We will be able to absorb a lot of elements through the course such as being compassionate, knowledge sharing, personality development, building curiosity and understanding each other. We will experience 'Freedom', through which comes 'Responsibility'. All these are very important while being with children. My batch had hands on experience with material making, but direct practical sessions are very important and is something not to be missed!

My journey into the elementary course made me realize that the Montessori method of learning is not just an educational system, it is a better way of living. Such basic and factual things hit me to my core, brought so much awareness and made me feel grounded. Every area is meticulously designed to address the needs of the children. And it led me to think, “If this is what the children are gonna learn, then how much of a change that it’s gonna bring to the future society!”. I am happy that I took this course, and it is my destiny.

I am glad that I got an opportunity to pen down my thoughts here. Honestly I dint see this as a course, instead this gives me a self-realisation in various aspects. I always wanted to facilitate my child and that’s why i stepped my foot here. No doubt that I achieved more than what I sought for. Physical observations to various schools gave me a lot of inputs. In fact, I learnt, where do I stand in my life that gives me a lot of thoughtful insights. The great lessons and the impressionistic charts creates a great impact and I have enjoyed the real value of that essence. I would definitely suggest this course to each and every mom in this universe because this is more of physical and psychological understanding of the child and their needs. It doesn’t mean only the people who is interested in working should join this but this is purely for every soul. This course takes me to a separate world.
Being in Mumbai and to do the Elementary course, was a dream come true, through the blended course offered by IMTC-Elementary- Chennai and team under the guidance of Ms. Kavita Gunashekaran mam. They made me go through a complete revolution within myself. The course gave me a wholistic understanding of, not only the concepts through material, but also to understand an Elementary child and to touch the child through every movement and every word. The team at each step made us realise not to stare at their fingers but to look at the child objectively without any bias and internalise the same as an Adult to be in an Elementary environment and in the world. The Guest lectures were thought provoking. Every trainer added a different element to my learning. They lived and show us how we can carry forward. Each step challenged us from presentations to assignments and chart colouring, gave us an insight of the concept and the reason why it is presented in a particular way to Elementary child. Overall, it was an amazing year spent with exponential growth within myself. Thank you IMTC-Elementary- Chennai and team for a transforming experience. Being a great fan of Montessori and her principles I wanted to see how it is carried to the elementary environment. With the support from my school, SARVVAM I joined IMTC. Learning, taking notes and listening to lectures after so many years was a big challenge. But the facilitators we so experienced and knowledgeable that they understood us very well and gave us the freedom and space to develop at our own pace. They were reachable always to clear our doubts. There were a lot of 'wow moments'. Though online they showed us all the models and demonstrations and made us realize that Montessori methods can even be followed by making materials from the available things in our environment... 10 months of memorable journey with IMTC is indeed a lifetime experience.

Hi I am Vaishnavi and I have been working with Sprouts Montessori House of Children for over 5 years. The Elementary Training course at IMTC which i undertook in 2019-20 was the best thing that has happened to me in many ways. A course is designed to support guide and educate the adult in handling the children in the elementary age group. A curriculum designed to meet the child’s psychological needs of the child keeping his tendencies and developmental plane in mind. This is a must do for any adult wanting to encourage the children take charge of their learning.
Montessori methodology is an incredible educational system aiding in the holistic development of a child.

Mrs.Kavitha Gunasekaran was not merely an instructor for us but we worked,sang,learnt,participated together and she helped us in identifying our whole self.
The course taught us to understand the needs of children between 6-12, plan & prepare lessons that would kindle their imagination to research, learn and understand concepts from all areas.

Do you believe that ‘education’ can give you spiritual as well as psychological enlightenment? If you answered no, then this course will make you say YES!! And if you answered YES! Then your search for the right course ends here. When we look back at the schooling/ education that we had, it mostly would have been memorising, forgetting and fear of any particular subject/s and not to forget, the doubts that you had as a child, the unanswered questions that you had/have about anything, the fear of any subject etc., etc., the list can go on. All of the above can be overcome by attending this course, and by the end of it you will know what education is supposed to be – both for the child in you and your child/children. Be ready ‘to unlearn to learn’ the right way of education. The clarity and the immensity of knowledge imparted cannot be put into words, you have to experience it and what a beautiful journey it would turn out to be.
Kavitha is one of the best mentors, she is a meticulous guide who accompanies you in this journey of learning and shows you how easy it is to fall in love with learning. She asks the right questions at the right time so that you experience the inner spark for the spiritual/psychological growth. Her classes will always remain a beautiful memory in my life.
As a child, I could never memorise and write in school, I could only write when I understood and always wrote in my own words. Needless to say, I took a dislike to Math coz of the fear of the subject and I inclined towards English, yet I majored in accounting!! The irony of it still baffles me!! So I was so sure that my children would not go through what I had gone through and enrolled my children in a Montessori school after a long search. Though children were progressing, I was still backwards with my traditional schooling and thoughts and my own incapability was giving me anxiety when it came to my children’s education. So then I decided to enrol in the course to understand what my children are learning… and the rest is all that is stated above. Thank you for taking your time to read through.
