COURSE  OVERVIEW

Enrolment Procedure

  • The candidate must come in person to the centre to register for the course.
  • The Director of the course will have a personal meeting with the candidate before the registration.
  • The registration form needs to be bought by paying Rs. 500/-. An e-copy of the prospectus will be mailed to the candidate.
  • The duly filled in registration form along with the attachments should be submitted within a week from registration, in person or could be sent by courier.
  • Once the registration fee is remitted the candidate will be called for an interview online (in case the candidate has not met the director of the course in person).
  • The admission to the course will be at the sole discretion of the course director based on the criteria laid down by the centre and student’s credentials.
  • The course fee (first instalment) has to be paid immediately on the confirmation of the admission.

Requirement for the Online Classes

  • The students should have a good/strong internet connectivity and a large screen (use of mobile phone not permitted) to view the classes online.
  • The student should be on the video throughout the sessions failing which the students will not be given the attendance for the particular session.
  • Absence from class for personal reasons should be informed to the centre by e mail.
  • The student should take down notes of the theory as well as practical demonstrations. One could use any medium convenient (laptop, iPad or on paper)
  • The classes cannot be recorded.
  • An isolated place at home or workplace should be ideal to attend the classes online, to maintain the class decorum.

ATTENDANCE

  • The course is comprised of 950 hours, which breaks into 650 hours of theory and practical demonstrations and 300 hours of practice.
  • The students are expected to have a 90% attendance of theory and practical demonstrations and a 100% attendance of practice to be eligible to give their final examinations.

Schedule of Online Sessions

  • The online classes are scheduled to be on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Thursdays and Fridays from 2pm to 6pm. On Saturdays from 9.30am to 4.30pm
  • There will be a break of 15 minutes between sessions.
  • The local students are required to come to the centre on Saturdays for in person classes and practice with the material.
  • The outstation students will attend the same sessions online on all days.

Observation

  • The students will be sent for observations to various Montessori schools to observe the children and the methodology to conform the practices learned through the course twice during the year.
  • The second round of observations will include teaching practice, which will enable oneself to have a hands-on experience of working in an elementary environment.

Practice

For local students

  • The student is required to come to the centre for practice for 2 hours on Saturdays.
  • The practice hours will increase to 5 hours towards the end of the course.
For outstation students
  • The outstation students will attend the online practice for 2 hours on Saturdays which will be supervised by one of our faculties. Here the students will make material indigenously for the presentations.
  • They are required to come to the centre thrice during the year for 2 weeks for direct practice. This amounts to 30 days of practice at the centre.

File Submissions

  • The notes are to be typed in word format along with the illustrations of the material at various stages to help the student understand the steps of the presentation clearly.
  • The students will be assigned to groups to enhance their skills of working in groups and the spirit of teamwork.
  • The student will be given a schedule to submit the completed files which will get them a credit score. This will be one of the criteria for enabling the student to take up the final examinations.
  • The files will be checked for errors and sent to the student with track changes.
  • The corrections should be made, and the files stored under different folders one for each subject area.
  • The assignments and other theory papers should be submitted as per schedule.
  • There are around 95 A3 sized charts and 3 timelines that would need to be coloured appropriately by the students as part of the material making during the course. The outlined charts in the printed format will be provided by the centre. The printing cost of these will be charged as per actuals.
  • The final submission of the physical folders in different subject area will be towards the end of the course before the final practical examinations.

Fee

  • A breakup of the total fee structure is annexed.
  • The student can choose to pay in full or in part as per the structure given.
  • All fees need to have been paid within the stipulated time period.
  • The charts will be charged as per actuals apart from the fee mentioned in the Annexure.
